Estate Sale Fees:

Our fees are based on the content of the sale, the distance, the cost of travel, and the expenses of the sale.  Fees are 20% of the sale and are based upon the dollar amount of the sale proceeds.  Most sales commissions are based on a $5,000.00 sale.  In other words, if the sale yields up to $4,999, our fee is $1,000 (20% of $5,000).  Sales over $5,000 are 20% of the sale (e.g. 20% of a $6,000 estate sale would incur a commission of $1,200).

Our fee is 20% regardless of whether sales are local or out-of-town.  However, when we conduct sales over 50 miles from Memphis, additional travel costs of transportation, lodging and dining are applied and deducted from the sale.  Typically, out-of-town fees generally run 30% to 35% of the sale or higher, depending upon the sale location’s distance from Memphis.   

In each case the fee and the schedule are determined by the family and Team Estate Sales prior to the beginning of the sale.

Appraisal Fees:

Fees for appraisals are based on the scope of the work.  Most appraisals are $150.00 per hour plus travel time over 25 miles.  In the cost of an appraisal, travel time is paid to and not from the appraisal site.   Cost in research, report preparation, and presentation are billed at $75.00 per hour. The fee for appraisal of a single item for insurance replacement value is a minimum of $375.00.  An appraisal and report detailing the loss of contents of a home due to theft, fire, flood and other disasters for an insurance claim is $1,400 to $2,000.00.
